business serving the local community
Bridgegate Printing Company,
is an independently owned business, specialising in business
communications, located in Lower Bridge Street within the city
walls of the historic City of Chester in North West
England. The business takes its name from the nearby
Bridgegate, one of the main gates which once guarded the
entrances to the city. The business was established 20
years ago and re-launched as Bridgegate Printing Company in
April 2003.
We pride ourselves in
providing an excellent service to the local business community
in Chester. This is testified by the fact that we have
many long term customers from whom we get a considerable
amount of repeat business and word of mouth referrals. Our
Managing Director, Tim Schofield, is supported by a team of
professional designers, printers, IT specialists and project
advisers, utilising the latest digital imaging technology for
printing and copying.
Chester's Bridgegate
The Medieval Bridgegate, which forms part of
the city walls, was the southern gateway to the city which
guarded The Dee Bridge, the approach to Chester from North
Wales. It was originally flanked by two defensive
towers. In 1601 a water tower was built above the gate
supplying piped water to the city. The present arch,
designed by Joseph Turner, was built by Chester Corporation in
1782.
